Garmin – Who are they?

Garmin is the biggest consumer and GPS manufacturer has become almost synonymous with "GPS". Garmin was started in 1989 and has a history of producing leading GPS products, and they have sold millions of GPS receivers. They have a beautiful series of automotive GPS devices.

Garmin StreetPilot c340

The Garmin StreetPilot c340 is in the middle of the "C" series. Thegreat advantage it has over the c330 has text to speech. Steet This means that instead of the voice saying things like "in 100 meters turn left" it "you say you will turn left on Main." This can be really beneficial when driving city streets and you do not want to look on the GPS screen to confirm, take the turn to.

In addition, the C340 is equipped with an optional FM TMC Traffic Receiver to be upgraded. This means that live traffic information can be sent to your StreetPilot to warn you to beaccidents, construction, or just rush hour traffic. If feasible, the c340 will route you to that traffic, when a faster route can be established.

If you want to save a little money, you can choose for the c330, if you do not mind not with text-to-speech, still want the optional traffic receiver. Otherwise this is a good pick-mix for the function and price.

Garmin Nuvi 250 –

Garmin, the Nuvi 250, which is knownin the middle of the entry level nuvi 200-series. The nüvi 250 is designed so that an extremely simple device, without many of the advanced options many people never use. I have often feedback from readers that a particular device would be a good match for them, but the price was a little high, and they felt they were paying for functions that do not really need them. The Garmin Nuvi 250 could have a perfect fit for them.

One of the changes for the Nuvi200-series is that the flip-up antenna is seemingly gone, replaced by an internal antenna. I've never been a fan for the flip-up antenna design so this is a welcome change.

Many of the PDA functions in the rest of the Nuvi lineup have the nüvi 250, like the world clock, calculator, unit converter remained, and the image viewer. You can also download Garmin's "additional paid content as the Savers Guide and Travel Guide products.

The GarminNuvi 250 is equipped with a 3.5-inch screen, the standard for entry-GPS devices, but still provides enough of the screen for ease of navigation guaranteed. There is an SD card slot for loading additional products and maps.

So, no bluetooth, no traffic, no MP3 player, FM transmitter does not, no widescreen display. However, most people can probably get by just fine without these features. But there's something that you just want that does not exist,Text-to-speech. You need to get promotion to the 300 or 600 series nüvi this function. If Garmin text, one to one speech, with the 250, this device would be sacrosanct in the entry level category, but it would probably also be cannibalized sales forecast for the 300-series is still popular. And most people just get by fine without text-to-speech.
